Cold pressure washers are best used to clean dirt with or without small amounts of oil and grease. Hot pressure washers are best if significant amounts of oil or grease are present or if some heat reactive substance is being cleaned.
Three factors usually govern the selection of pressure washer size (performance rating).
For assistance with size selections, contact SMC Application Engineering Department at 336.996.5585.
All models of SMC pressure washers will accept hot water feed if equipped with the proper accessory devices. See SMC Technical Bulletin Number 1168 for a full explanation. Power requirements (voltage and amperage) are determined by motor size. The highest rating that can be operated on normal 110-120 volt electrical circuits is 2 GPM/1400 PSI which uses a 2 HP motor. Each model has a "standard" voltage and phase listed in the specifications for that model. However, other power ratings are optionally available on all models. The standard electrical ratings are: 110 – 120 volts 230 volts/1 phase 230 volts/3 phase 460 volts/3 phase Contact SMC Application Engineering Department at 336.996.5585 for information concerning non standard power ratings.
SMC only manufacturers top quality industrial/commercial pressure washers that are designed for heavy-duty use, maximum reliability, durability and long life. Pressure washers from sources mentioned above are generally built for lowest possible price and are suitable only for lighter duty applications and intermittent use due to lower quality levels. All SMC hot pressure washers are superior phosphatizing systems when equipped with the available optional phosphatizing system accessories. SMC has been in business for 31 years and guarantees immediate availability of replacement parts for a minimum of ten (10) years from date of manufacture. Most popular models are in factory stock for immediate shipment. However, lead times can vary with the timing of the order. During busy times smaller models can take about one week and larger models two weeks or more. There is a wide range of special purpose accessories available. See accessory summary on the web site or catalog. For information on non-listed accessories, contact SMC Customer Service Department. An SMC heater module can be used with any SMC cold high-pressure washer. The outlet of the pressure washer is connected to the inlet of the heater. The pressure washer hose and gun is connected to the outlet of the heater. The heater starts and stops automatically with the trigger gun activation to heat the water to final temperatures ranging from 160º F to 300º F. All SMC cold water washers are standard equipped with chemical downstream injectors which allow the chemical to be applied with a soft low pressure spray and removed with high pressure clear water. All SMC hot washers/steam cleaners are standard equipped with upstream injection which allows the chemical to be applied with high-pressure washer. There are many alternatives available for non-standard applications. For more information contact SMC Customer Service Department at 336.996.5585. For most applications in the USA it is not necessary to keep spare parts. All parts and components in SMC washers are American standard and are either available locally or from SMC factory stock. SMC guarantees immediate availability of spare parts in factory stock for a minimum of ten (10) years from date of manufacture. Parts can be shipped overnight to any U.S. airport location. For critical applications, contact SMC Customer Service Department at 336.996.5585 for parts stock recommendations related to specific applications. Yes, but the water must not be acidic (below 7.0 PH) and must be filtered to 5 microns. All SMC models can be optionally equipped with special filters to meet this requirement. |
